The above is a simple recipe really, is it not? Oh, but I hear you saying now, “Yeah, simpler said than done!” as is often the general consensus. However, I want to offer you this, it’s pretty much just like baking a cake. It does take a certain level of trial and error and lots of practice. But also like in baking, the one creating finds great joy and interest in the experimental process of creating something new, tasty (hopefully) and beautiful through the alchemy of mixing the simple ingredients of life and adding a little bit of fire over an extended period of time. And then he (or she) waits. And the result? Sometimes a bum cake. An opportunity (aka, a lesson) to learn what one did or perhaps did NOT do in order to make it rise completely, or even stay risen once it was pulled out of the fire (aka, oven) and back into the world of space and time.
And thus the baker tries again. More practice. And remember, dear Ones, even talent (or lack thereof) can be overcome with enough patience and perseverance. So, with enough time, effort and God-given gumption, what is finally created and eventually revealed is something utterly amazing and to be proud of, no doubt, as the baker chooses to share and enjoy it with family and friends and perhaps even complete strangers in a deeply appreciative and most joyful way.
And when that cake is complete,
And has been shared and nurtured others in kind…
And when the baker is ready, in right and perfect time,
He will choose to create another.
Maybe the same one this time.
Maybe something quite different.
Something the baker has never tried.
What is going on in the making of his mind?
And therefore, a gathering again of the elements of Five.
Earth, Air, Fire, Water… and the inner workings of the Mind.
Time for more practice.
More learning.
More trusting this time?
More skills in creating in order to refine.
More fire.
More water.
A little more sugar, if you be so kind?
Maybe some chocolate, or raspberries, or lemon, or lime.
Perhaps a pinch of cayenne to even open the Eye..
You get to decide.
More appreciation.
More experimentation.
More fun.
More Practice.
More Time.
“Here To Inspire” (allegorical tale based on fact) by Patricia Eastwood
I have spent so much of my life living in that town known as ‘Despair’ … my house was called ‘Fear’ and the street was ‘Worry’ … the suburb of the town was known as ‘Distress’.
I desperately needed to move away from this place … so I applied for a job in a place called ‘Hope’.
Packing to move was difficult … I had so much baggage that I needed a pantechnicon to hold it all. Even then, I still had so many pieces of hand luggage that climbing on the train was virtually impossible.
When I reached ‘Hope’ I rented a room in a house called ‘Clear Conscience’, but the landlady, a jolly lady called ‘Happiness’ wouldn’t let me bring my baggage in … she said it would all have to stay outside in the back yard. I worried that someone might steal my precious things … she said no-one in ‘Hope’ would touch my baggage with a bargepole!
My room, by the way, was bright and sunny … with jolly music playing quietly in the background … the rent was extortionate, however … I had to go into the backyard every day before setting out for work and throw one of my precious possessions out. Well, I would stand and pick my way through all these things … choosing was so difficult … each thing was so precious … and I arrived at work later and later each day.
The day came that I was still there as the sun sank in the western sky … my boss, called ‘Joy’, arrived to see where I had been all day and found me in tears, nursing the final piece of misery which I had carried from my earliest childhood.
She said “Look … the whole yard is so clean … you have achieved so very much … come on, your renaming ceremony is tonight … all the guests are waiting … I will stand beside you while you throw this last piece out”
She was so supportive, I felt I had no choice but to throw the last piece out … expecting to feel sad again, I closed my eyes and threw it up into the air … … … Instead, I felt light as air myself … panicking at the strange sensation, I opened my eyes to find myself supported by ‘happiness’ and ‘joy’ … They told me that my name is now ‘freedom’ and they took me to my renaming ceremony where I had a wonderful time and found so many new friends.
Those new friends are called ‘We are here to Inspire’ Community and also, ‘Hold my Hand’ Community … and I am now a happy, productive person …. without baggage! LOL.

By expanding our understanding to include others’ experiences, friends help us accept others. By understanding when someone’s life differs from our own, we can learn about ourselves in contrast. There are times when we see in friends what we don’t like about ourselves. That mirror reflection may be hard to take, but a good friend helps us find ways we can change and supports us in that choice.
Part of the joy of friendship is the feeling that we are accepted just the way we are, with no need to change. It is a gift they give us, and one we can give back every day. Ultimately, we choose friends because they make us feel good about ourselves and life. Through tears and difficulties, friends help us find the laughter. When we find those special people who offer us that perfect combination of comfort and stimulus to grow, we are very fortunate. Friends, those wonderful companions that walk with us through life, help us define and refine who we are and who we choose to be every day.

Our lives are guided by natural rhythms that are particular to each of us and cannot be altered by force of will alone. Life itself is a journey made up of processes and events that manifest before us only to be swept away when time marches on.
Whether we envision ourselves creating a career, building a family, or developing the self, we instinctively know when the time has come for us to realize our dreams because all that is involved comes together harmoniously. When the time is right, the passage of destiny cannot be blocked. Yet as desperate as we are to touch these beautiful futures we have imagined, we cannot grow if we are not fully present in the evolutionary experience. The present can be challenging, uncomfortable, and tedious, but life unfolds as it will, and the universe will wait patiently as we make our way into the unknown.
The fate that awaits us is not dependent on our pace, which was preordained before we ever appeared in human guise. Therefore there is no reason to rush through life to reach those pinnacles of development associated with the paths we have chosen. Enjoying and fully experiencing the journey of life is as important as achieving goals and reaching milestones.
There are lessons we can learn during those moments that seem immaterial or insignificant that we cannot learn at any other time. Appreciating these takes patience, however, because human beings tend to focus on the fulfillment of expectations rather than the simple joys of being. Like many people, you have no doubt longed for a device that would give you the power to fast forward through certain periods of your existence. Yet haste is by its very nature vastly more stressful than serene fortitude.
When you feel yourself growing impatient because the pace of your development is deceptively slow, remember that everything that will occur in your life will occur in its own time. Quelling your urge to rush will enable you to witness yourself learning, changing, and becoming stronger. There is so much to see and do in between the events and processes that we deem definitive. If you are patient enough to take pleasure in your existence’s unfolding, the journey from one pinnacle to the next will seem to take no time at all.
Allow your life to unfold like a flower rather than worrying and making predictions which cause stress.

I literally have tears of joy and deep appreciation flowing down my face right now… AGAIN!… Lawd, it’s a wonder I have any tears left sometimes! I LOVE this guy. The first time I saw one of his videos, I was like one of these kids. Eyes in wonder, heart in a deep place of trying to even imagine what it would be like if I were in his shoes… well, shorts… wait that didn’t sound right either… his place… eerrrrr… situation. Nick Vujicic (subject of the video below) is an amazing inspiration. And like those kids (who are also amazing!), I hung onto every word he had to say. Nick’s message and his very BEing breaks all the preconceived rules/expectations and it definitely breaks the barriers.
The moment I opened the video, my heart began to flood. It’s strange sometimes to even observe myself feel so deeply and connect so strongly with others. As a child I remember having to apologize for the empathy I felt for others which, at the time, I couldn’t understand. When I was still very young, like eight or nine years old, I would see tragic events or terrible things happen on TV or in the movies and go into deep bouts of uncontrollable crying as if the event or situation had happened directly to me. Especially when it involved children or older people. I guess I always felt that the healthier more mid-life folks had better ability to protect themselves. Although I did feel bad for them too if something bad happened to them. I mean… usually. =)~
But the same was true when I observed happy occasions from afar. The event or scene could have been something on TV or in a movie. Didn’t matter. Felt very very real for me, and again, I often reacted as if I were physically there in the space feeling all the beautiful energies of joy and celebration. And too, I would often find myself crying… again. ESPECIALLY when people found that auspicious, rare kind of Love. You know, the “OMG, he/she found his/her soulmate!”storyline.
I knowwww… You’re like, “Helloooooo! Everyone gets emotional on that one. Duhhhhh!.” Yeah, but were you a boy?… age 7?… slightly round?… with a slight lisp?… and trying not to ball your eyes out in public?! Yeah, I know right?!. And if you were, well then hey, call me. LOL… just kidding. It’s cool now.
ANYwhooooooo… where was I? Oh right… ahem… So, I understand the deep connection now and how it is so much a greater gift than a burden in the service work I am now committed to in the World.
Well, like the video title says… “Look at Yourself AFTER You Watch This video“. You may not be gushing underground wellsprings by the end of it. But then again, maybe you will. And that’s okay too (even you guys out there.) But don’t worry, we won’t tell anyone. I promise. Yessss, I totally promise. But seriously, truly ALLOW yourself to connect with this one. Welcome back. Now take a deep breath and tell yourself “Thank You”. I mean really give yourself some gratitude, real and sincere. And then take a moment to realize that we ALL have our own greatest fears, angers, worries, frustrations, and short-comings… literal AND figurative… which we tend to focus on instead of the many gifts we also possess. And when we’re not quite aware of the bigger picture and fully conscious just yet, we also don’t realize the very valuable gifts we can receive when we learn how to accept, embrace and give gratitude to all those things that cause strife in our lives.
Our fears, doubts and anger can (and usually are) are our absolute greatest teachers and life lesson bringers IF we choose to look at them with a higher consciousness magnifier… something I have come to refer to as the “heartmind“. It is the heart of the essence of You.

Your Life IS beautiful by the simple fact that you HAVE it in the first place. There are many souls who are no longer with us in the physical who would be absolutely willing to trade spaces with you this very minute if they had the choice, knowing what they know now and looking back here from the other side. I’m willing to bet my bottom dollar on it. BUT their lives were theirs, and what they did (and didn’t) do with it when they had life was up to them. The same is true for you. Right here. Right now.
Where’s your glass?? Take a look at it. Raise it up. Now look into it. No, not literally. It’s a metaphor, silly. See it in your mind’s eye. Go on. Is it half full or half empty?? And is there a difference really in the analogy? Or is it just another statement that pisses you off when you hear someone ask you it? Does it peeve you to no end when someone (like one of your happy-go-lucky-new-agey friends perhaps? or your mom?) makes the cliché statement like, “Oh but look at the bright side, honey!” ?
If the answer to any of those questions is yes, well then I will say right here… if you can’t currently see any possible inkling of even a dimly lit, even slightly brighter side, then I HIGHLY recommend you watch the video again, and then take another look at yourself… your situation… your lot you are currently in. And look a little longer and a lotta bit deeper into yourself.
And if that doesn’t help! well, then call me… I have a loving metaphysical 2×4 that I bet I can create a few wake up stars to help you see a little bit more “light” around the situation! LOL… compassionately and lovingly, of course.
But seriously, NOW is the time to begin to wake up to the reality that you are NOT your circumstances, but you ARE the result by how you look at, live, learn and grow from them. This is true for ALL of us, because we are all powerful, beautiful and perfectly flawed beings in all our own little ways. Life is the journey of seeing, allowing and flowing your flaws and your perfections together into your own bigger and better version of your Life Experience that is the key to unlocking the door to a great big secret to greater joy and abundance in your Life. The name of the key? Simple. It’s Gratitude.
Be the change you are seeking for your own Life. FIND the courage to live life magnificently instead of choosing to be a victim of your own making and blaming your circumstances and the people around you. Your circumstances do NOT define you, but they CAN refine and even re-define you into the connected Being you so desire your Self to be. When you’re not decorating the cake for yet another self loathing, pity party of one, I mean.
I love you, and you are loved by others. Can you… do you… WILL YOU choose to love and appreciate yourself as well? First and foremost. For you can not give to others what you do not have. You just need to learn to appreciate this simple fact as well. The Time is now. It always is. YOU get to decide. Gratitude is the glue to a greater you.

it’s the 12th. it’s may. it’s the year 2010 (roman calendar time) tomorrow is the height of the new moon in Taurus. so, what does that all mean? well, probably not much to many of you. obvious stated facts, you might be thinking. but for some of you reading this, it means a great deal more…. energetically/metaphysically/spiritually, even mystically speaking.

and for a few others, there may be a resonance in that statement that underlies an interesting “feeling” that it DOES mean something more, but you’re just not quite sure or clear on what that feeling is or even what it might mean. it’s like being given a package that you’ve been told contains something REALLY good, something you will probably like very very much, but for right now you are only allowed to hold it… not quite allowed t0 open it just yet.
for me personally… well, let’s just say that the new moon cycles tend to “ramp things up” for me energetically speaking. so, what does that mean, you ask? well, let’s just also say the my connection to everything that “IS” becomes stronger, more palpable… and my work with students, clients and even on myself seems to flow much easier, clearer and often much deeper and more intense than usual.
those also close to me see how my physical energy level is often significantly affected. everything begins to buzz with activity… my mind, my body and certainly my Spirit. it’s akin feeling like a little kid with unabated giggly laughter and energy. i know some of y’all can relate to THAT statement! i can be that way outside of the full and new moon cycles, of course, but this is like turning up the volume in a way. it’s an interesting and fun phenomenon for me to perceive from within looking out, and based on the reaction i get from others, it can be quite amusing to observe from out there as well.
but it hasn’t always been this way. though not a stranger to feeling the effects of the Full Moon hanging big and fat in the air no matter what the season, i’ve only really noticed this significant shift into deeper levels of understanding and consciousness around the New Moon cycles just within the last eight to nine months. and as much as it is a joy to be in that state of connectedness and flow, it has taken some time for my physical body to adjust to what i sometimes refer to as the “moon marathon” of go-go-go, applying the increased energy levels in healthy, fun ways. as best i can atleast.
for those of you who know personally of what i speak here, you know the feeling. it’s not an all to rare event for those who work in the energetic fields of mind/body/spirit healing or psychic mediums. it can best be described as simply a pure connection to both Source (cosmic) and Earth energy fields.
some laugh and look at me with that, “what the heck have you been smokin?” look on their faces… followed with the ever-amusing “i’ll have what he’s having” commentary from time to time. when asked why i’m in such a good mood or where i get all my energy, i simply tell them the Truth…
“well, it’s just Pure Source Energy and this pure connection to all of Life is my elixir… my peace pipe, if you will. and it’s open to anyone and everyone, but it takes work to connect with the Flow of Life on its own cycles. there’s a lot of undoing and removing of internal road blocks that typically keep people from being able to feel the Flow, except for few and short-lived moments.i’ve done and continue to do my work, and this is one of the major rewards.”
i often get that look again along side a crooked smile and an “uh-huhhh… well, okay then.” (LOL) i don’t mind. it’s kinda funny in a way, because i see myself in just about eveyone i meet. i remember when i didn’t really understand it quite fully either. i mean, i had read about it, heard about it, maybe even had a sense about it. but it’s like fishing or sailboating or jumping out of a plane or something… you just won’t be able to fully understand it until you’ve had the chance to fully experience it beyond books, thoughts or brief encounters.
but i also know that this Pure Energy is not mine to hold. i mean really, how do you hold back a cosmic river in full flow?? well yes, i suppose i could try to dam it up, hold onto it, and attempt keep it and apply to my own very specific needs, wants or desires. but i also Know that the gift of connecting to an unlimited supply of Universal feel-goodness is not meant to be stifled and contained… and that’s why they call it “Being in the Flow”. “So today, I affirm that I am one day closer to the ultimate perfection of my highest, purest potential in Life!! Which is also one day further ahead in equal part and time… my goal for perfection that is… as to stay one step ahead of me so that I may have something to strive for as I perfect my practice on a day to day level. Right…
And so then, i’m exactly where I was yesterday…. hmmmmm… relatively speaking, I mean. as it pertains to my practice towards perfection as measured in this current time/space reality… which is an illusion really… again, relatively speaking… as time and space are now known to both be much more malleable than originally believed based on certain quantum physical laws of the Universe figured out by that E=mc2 guy. You knowwww… the really smart one with the white-gray hair and that funny mustache!?
OH! and there’s that “mind perceiving my surroundings creating my own perception of reality around me” thing. you know, like how an hour at the DMV can feel like a whole fricken day sorta thing. Riiiiiiiigghhht… okay… So, where was I…? OH RIGHT!
So, I’m exactly where I was yesterday but one day closer to the ultimate perfection of my highest, purest potential in this Life! So… i’m a step a head AND kinda sorta where I was BUT i’m EXACTLY where I’m supposed to be in any given moment!! RIGHT! So, that means that everything is EXACTLY PERFECT in the exact moment that it is occuring, BECAUSE if it wasn’t then it wouldn’t be what it IS! It in fact, would be something completely other than what it is, if it wasn’t meant to be perfectly when/where/why it is right now! SOOOOOOO…. (long deep breath… annnnd…)
I AM EXACTLY WHERE I AM, AND WHERE I AM IS EXACTLYWHERE I’M SUPPOSED TO BE, AND I AM ALWAYS PERFECTLY PRACTICING PERFECTION IN MY PURPOSEFUL PRACTICE IN EVERY SINGLE MOMENT OF THE DAY… GOOD, BAD OR INDIFFERENT…
WHILE ALWAYS SEEKING THE OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN FROM MY CURRENT EXPERIENCE IF I DON’T LIKE IT… WHILE FINDING CREATIVE INSPIRATION OR SIMPLE ALLOWING OF THE ONES I FEEL RELATIVELY INDIFFERENT ABOUT… WHILE ALL THE WHILE, APPRECIATING ALL OF THE EXPERIENCESAND ESPECIALLY THE GOOD ONES AS I MOVE ALONG THE PATH OF LIFE. COOL! SEEEEEEEE PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT INDEED!

An elderly Chinese woman had two large pots, each hung on the ends of a pole which she carried across her neck. One of the pots had a crack in it while the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water. At the end of the long walks from the stream to the house, the cracked pot arrived only half full. For a full two years this went on daily, with the woman bringing home only one and a half pots of water.
Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments. But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own imperfection, and miserable that it could only do half of what it had been made to do. After two years of what it perceived to be bitter failure, it spoke to the woman one day by the stream. “I am ashamed of myself, because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to your house.”
The old woman smiled, “Did you notice that there are flowers on your side of the path, but not on the other pot’s side? That’s because I have always known about your flaw, so I planted flower seeds on your side of the path, and every day while we walk back, you water them. For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate the table. Without you being just the way you are, there would not be this beauty to grace the house.”
Each of us has our own unique flaws, but it’s the cracks and flaws we each have that make our lives together so very interesting and rewarding. You’ve just got to take each person for what they are and look for the good in them.
